Welcome to the Park Advanced Functional Textile Research Lab!

Our research aims to develop sustainable functional textiles from unconventional resources by understanding the process–structure–property relationships that govern textile materials. We are particularly interested in how interactions between fibers and their surrounding environment, especially water–textile interactions across multiple length scales, influence the performance and functionality of textile systems.

Drawing inspiration from abundant natural resources, including biological materials and microorganisms, our lab explores new pathways for designing next-generation textile systems. Through this fundamental understanding, we aim to expand the boundaries of textiles toward emerging applications, including filtration, protective materials, and responsive textile systems.

Founded in 2021 at Yonsei University, we are a young and growing lab and welcome exciting collaborations with researchers and students who share our interest in sustainable and functional textile materials.

저희 연구실은 대체적 자원으로부터 지속가능한 기능성 섬유소재를 개발하기 위해 섬유 소재의 공정–구조–물성(process–structure–property) 관계를 이해하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 특히 물과 섬유소재 사이의 다양한 길이 스케일에서의 상호작용이 섬유 시스템의 성능과 기능에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 관심을 가지고 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.

또한 생체 유래 소재와 미생물과 같은 풍부한 천연 자원으로부터 영감을 받아 차세대 섬유 시스템을 설계하는 새로운 접근을 탐구하고 있습니다. 이러한 기초적인 이해를 바탕으로 여과, 보호 소재, 반응형 섬유 시스템 등 다양한 미래 응용 분야로 섬유 소재의 가능성을 확장하고자 합니다.

저희 연구실은 2021년 연세대학교에서 시작된 연구실로, 지속가능하고 기능적인 섬유소재 연구에 관심 있는 학생 및 연구자들과의 협력을 기대합니다.
